“PASSION IN HARMONY”
The biggest barbershop event in Holland will take place again in 2019, from 29 – 31 March. It is already for the 19th time that Holland Harmony organizes this fantastic happening. For many years now, the best of barbershop convenes at the Congress Centre Koningshof in Veldhoven. Choruses and quartets measure their strengths in a diversity of contests, judged by a professional jury.
However, the convention weekend is so much more than just about competition. Convention means to convene, to meet, to come together in music, in inspiration. Inspiration you can find every day during the contests and in the shows at the end of each day. On the Friday and Saturday show you can enjoy our new winners of the competitions and multiple phenomenal (inter)national guests. On Sunday it is time for a special show, “A Dutch Treat”. Add to that the several occasions for the well known ‘Afterglow’ and you will understand what “Convention in barbershop” really means!
“Passion in Harmony” – convention 2019 – to inspire, to connect and to further stimulate the infectious fire and pass it on. The world around us will stop for a moment. It is a three day long beautiful, human and musical festival.

Ticket sales

2019 Convention Song
The 2019 Convention Song is “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John, especially arranged for us by Steve Tramack. During the convention weekend, we sing the mixed version, completely in line with the new “Everyone in Harmony” movement.

Goals
The Holland Harmony Convention aims:
- to offer an inspiring environment for choruses and quartets, especially for ‘barbershop singing and more’
- to offer a solid stage for a group to measure and monitor development over the years
- to stimulate improvement in singing, stage presence and performance through competition, coaching and workshops
- to host and promote a place to meet in music and friendship
Organization
The Holland Harmony Convention 2019 is an event organized by the biggest Dutch umbrella organization for barbershop singers, Holland Harmony. Currently 31 choruses and 24 quartets are member; male-, female- and for quartets also mixed ensembles. Only Holland Harmony members can compete during the Holland Harmony Convention.
Convention team
The actual organization of the event is in the hands of the convention team . We are building, learning, growing. This marvelous party will be a feast of recognition, and yet inspiring and good nourishment for the creative and innovative mind as well! With enthusiasm, and with the help of so many fabulous volunteers, we strive to organize yet another memorable convention weekend. We really look forward to sharing our passion with you!
