Our exciting international guests!

Musical Island Boys - Amersham A Cappella - BellaDonna
 Ladies First - Q-tones - SAFARI - The Dutchmen

The Musical Island Boys

Holland Harmony is the first European barbershop organisation to welcome the Musical Island Boys. The members of this young quartet are based in Wellington, New Zealand but come from the islands Aotearoa (New Zealand), Samoa, Niue en the Cook Islands.

The Musical Island Boys have won numerous awards. They were NZABS champions in 2004, 2007 and in 2010. In 2006 they were the first non-American quartet to win the BHS International Collegiate Championship and in 2010 they won a 4th place bronze medal at BHS International in Philadelphia. A huge achievement for a non-American quartet!

The Musical Island Boys have a unique Pacific sound, which separates them from all other top quartets. Their harmony singing is of exceptional quality and they can literally move you to tears.

No barbershop fan should miss their performances and you can hear and see them on the Jamboree (Friday evening), on the Saturday evening show “Reach Out & Touch” and on the Sunday Afternoon Show. Also spontaneously throughout the weekend!

Amersham A Cappella

After winning the bronze in 2007 and 2008 at the LABBS Convention, the ladies of Amersham A Cappella were thrilled to win the gold at the LABBS Convention in October 2010. The chorus is still overjoyed and this feeling is very noticeable in both their singing and their performance. Energy, passion and joy are the keywords for this chorus to keep the audience in their spell

Holland Harmony is very proud and happy that Amersham A Cappella is our guest at this convention. You can see and hear them in the Jamboree (Friday evening) and on the "Reach Out & Touch" show ( Saturday evening).

BellaDonna

When you combine charm with power, the result is this quartet: BellaDonna. At the BinG! Convention 2010 they were the 3rd placed female quartet. Their lead is a gifted songwriter, some of these songs deal with 'female issues', and BellaDonna presents these with a lot of zest and merriment. Their repertoire also holds classical barbershop ballads and up tunes, and with these they also captivate their audience. Tears of laughter, emotional goosebumps or the energy of the rhythm: BellaDonna gives you all of that.

BellaDonna are on stage on Friday as mike coolers in the Quartet Competition and in the Friday evening Jamboree.

Ladies First

We are very happy to have Ladies First in the house as our guests. They have won eight gold medals since the bi-yearly BinG! conventions started in 1993. Ladies First started their way to the top in 1991 and were the first German chorus to qualify for the Sweet Adelines Convention in Atlanta in 1999.

A performance of this chorus is filled with musical excitement and a joy to watch and listen to. Their original presentation and excellent singing make for an extraordinary experience. As BinG!’s champion chorus they are proud to represent BinG! and Germany.

They will perform as mike coolers during the Chorus Contest and they will perform on the 'Reach Out & Touch' show on Saturday evening.

Q-tones

When you make a cd album which lands you in the top 2 of the international organisation CARA (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards) after only two years, you’re not just any quartet. You’re Q-tones!

Holland Harmony is very happy to have Q-tones as guests once more. The down side is that it will be the last time Q-tones will perform on our convention stage. They will start their farewell tour with us, followed by Norway in April and the SNOBS convention in May, to end in Kansas City in July.

So, one last time to enjoy Q-tones. Don’t miss them!

Safari

You live in Sweden, you’re short of a bass for your quartet and across the water you see Denmark. Well, then you cross that water to get your bass. Safari did just that.

We are very happy to have the beautiful Safari ladies as our guests. Two years ago the three Swedish and one Danish lady went on an adventure which each other. This brought them to Norway where they won the 4th place at the Norwegian Championships. Now they are here with absolutely beautiful and gracious singing.

Performing in: Quartet Contest (Mike Cooler), Jamboree (Friday Evening), *Reach Out & Touch* show (Saturday Evening)

The Dutchmen

We are excited to have the Dutchmen as our guests, the only non-barbershop group on stage. During the coming season 2011-2012 The Dutchmen will write a new and exciting chapter in their diary: Ten Dutch Men will each be singing their own story. Their conductor Jetse Bremer is responsible for writing these beautiful arrnangements.

On October 31, 2009 the jury in the Vocal Light Top Festival awarded the unique sound of The Dutchmen with the first prize for medium-sized groups. The Dutchmen beat renowned choirs such as DeKoor, Be Sharp! and Leeuwenhart. The Dutchmen also won the Bert Eerden trophy in recognition of their exceptional quality and performance shown during this festival.

The Dutchmen perform in the Sunday Afternoon Show.
