Introduction

The convention of 2011 will be a special convention. It is not just a matter of Holland Harmony quartets and choruses. We welcome the choruses and quartets from DABS as participants in the convention in 2011 as well.

We will have plenty of good opportunity to sing: "Let Friendship Lead The Way!"

Naturally we have a fantastic line-up of convention guests. Top ranked quartets and choruses will perform for you.
The following quartets and choruses have agreed to appear at our convention:

• The Musical Island Boys from New Zealand. They became the Collegiate Champions at the International Convention in the USA in 2006 (quartet). In last BHS Convention (Philadelphia, 2010) they scored #4. MIB have never been in Europe and feel very honored that they have been invited. They are real showmen!
• Amersham A Capella - LABBS champions 2010 (women)
• Ladies First - multiple German Bing! Champions (women)
• Q-tones - Swedish men who know the art of barbershop singing. Silver medalists from SNOBS (quartet)
• Safari - Swedish women, new quartet.
• Belladonna - German women quartet (BinG!)

We are inviting a few other European choruses and one quartet, (in progress ...)

Please feel welcome to our convention in 2011 with the theme "REACH OUT AND TOUCH"
To touch people in their hearts with our singing, that is what we would like to do. We have something to say on that stage. I think it's a beautiful theme, I hope you think the same! Good luck with all the preparations and we’ll see you on April 1, 2011.

Location and dates for the Convention 2011

The Convention takes place in the Koningshof Hotel in Veldhoven from Friday April 1 to Sunday, April 3, 2011.

As said in the above introduction this weekend will have an exiting programme!

We are also preparing a more detailed programme, including time indications. Please be aware: it is still very draft and it will most certainly be changed in the coming months !!

Competing choruses and quartets

We have 18 competing quartets and 21 competing choruses.

Participating in the Convention

If you participate in the Convention by singing/directing on stage you need to be "registered".
Such a registration is needed for anybody who is on stage at any time during the contest (competing chorus/quartet, mike warmer/mike cooler, directors) or performing in the shows.

The registration fee is € 105,-  which includes a passe-partout for all contests, shows and Jamboree, a programme booklet and a convention pin.

If your chorus/quartet agreed with our convention team to participate in the convention you will be given a special link were you should enter the contact details of your chorus/quartet.
A little bit later the chorus/quartet contact person will receive a link to a password secured website where the contact person enters the names of all persons who need to be registered. At the same time you can specify the number of additional entrance tickets for your accompanying family & friends (we don't need to know the names of the accompanying guests).

Important: you need to complete the registration by October 15th. We will send you a bill by end of October, which need to be paid by December 1st.

Visiting the Convention

If you are not on stage but just visiting the convention to enjoy the performances you don't need to register. In that case you only need to buy entrance ticket(s).

Booking hotel rooms and/or meals

All hotel accommodations (bedrooms and meals) are fully handled by the hotel (NH Koningshof).
The convention team will NOT be involved and you deal directly with the hotel for booking bedrooms and meals.

Whether you are a registered participant or just a visitor, you all should book the hotel accommodation (bedrooms with or without meals) via a special form which you can download from the following link:

Please complete the form using Excel and follow the instructions in that form.

It is strongly advised to combine all orders for one chorus on one form. In that case the hotel can try to arrange all rooms next to each other.
