Description:
People talk about ‘stage presence’ as if it is some kind of mystical, in-born quality. But in fact there some simple techniques that anyone can learn that immediately improve a singer’s impact on and connection with an audience. Learning these elements of stage-craft in turn boosts the performer’s confidence and thus helps them bring their ‘best self’ to the stage.

This practical session will give participants the chance to practise the techniques, and to observe the effect they have on each other’s performance.

As a conductor you address various vocal technical subjects in separate warm-up exercises, depending on what your chorus at that time needs. Think of dynamics, intonation / hold tone, rhythm exercises, blending exercises etc

This workshop is aimed at beginners (I dare not, but would like to start with) and advanced (I'll do something, but how can it better). Working with improvisation, daring it.
Starting with the Human Metronome we will use basic techniques like shadowing, circle singing, basis sign language and improvisation techniques like Orchestra, Four on the Floor.

Wat is ervoor nodig om een "Intelligent Choir" te zijn? Dit concept van de Deense professor Jim Daus Hjernoe gaat erover, hoe zangers van een groep/koor zélf mede verantwoordelijkheid kunnen nemen voor het gemeenschappelijke muzikale proces en daarmee de gemeenschappelijke performance. Muzikale intelligentie dus, en dat kun je leren! In deze workshop introduceert Sander je via enkele spelvormen met de basis principes: Soundpainting, gehoortraining, shadowing, en het samen muziek creëren.

What does it take to be an "intelligent Choir"? This concept of the Danish professor Jim Daus Hjernoe is about how a group/ choir of singers itself can take responsibility for the joint musical process and thus the joint performance. This is musical intelligence and you can learn how to do this! In this workshop Sander introduces you through a few types of games with the basics: Sound Painting, ear training, shadowing, and creating music together.

In this class we discuss how to take the knowledge you have and teach it to others in a way that easy to understand. We cover the basics of coaching.

This class would be geared toward anyone who wants to be in front of a group. So it could be a director, assistant director, section leader, quartet coach, or anyone who aspires to be, and really at all levels of skill. We just talk a lot about the language you use and how to effectively communicate your ideas in a way that they will connect with.

Description:
this is a class I am developing that uses children's story books to develop an awareness of quality storytelling skills for our barbershop performances. After discussing the tenets of engaging storytelling, I will ask for volunteers to try reading/performing some classic American children's stories for the rest of the class, and then transferring those skills to some barbershop songs.

CWG-1:
Title: Heb jij ook zo’n slechte adem?
When: Friday 18:30 - 20:30 hrs  and repeated on Sunday 11:30 - 14:35 hrs
Duration: 2 hours   (deze workshop wordt één keer herhaald)
Target group: Iedereen die communiceert
Objective: Jouw communicatie met je mede koor-of kwartetleden verbeteren.

Heb jij ook zo’n slechte adem?
Je denkt van niet, maar toch……..
Wat doe jij om effectiever en opener te communiceren met de mensen om je heen.
Ontdek dat geven alles te maken heeft met ontvangen. En dat begrijpen voor begrepen worden komt.
(Voorafgaand aan deze workshop maakt iedere deelnemer een test!)
 

CWG-2:
Title: Neem me maar zoals ik ben!
When: Saturday 09:00 - 11:15
          and repeated on Saturday 15:00 - 17:15 and on Sunday 09:00 - 11:15 hrs
Duration: 2 hours   (deze workshop wordt twee keer herhaald)
Target group: iedereen die gedrag vertoont
Objective: Snappen waarom jouw mede koor-en kwartetleden "zo zijn” en daar beter op inspelen.

Description:
Neem me maar zoals ik ben!
Is dat zo? Of is gedrag van mensen te beďnvloeden en daardoor te veranderen.
Ervaar op speelse wijze de invloed van jouw gedrag op anderen.
En…….natuurlijk andersom.

CW1:
Title: So You Think You're a Leader -for singers
When: Friday 19:30 - 20:30 hrs
Duration: 1 hour
Target group: all singers

Description:
A class for Chorus Artistic Teams and Directors. In this class, we'll discuss ways in which we can be more successful as an ensemble by putting in work before the first note is ever sung in rehearsal, and how to be the best leader your chorus could ever ask for.

CW2:
Title: From Broadway to Barbershop
When: Saturday 09:00 - 11:15 hrs
           and repeated Sunday 09:00 - 11:15 hrs
Duration: 2 hours  (this workshop will be repeated)
Target group:  performance teams, directors, anyone interested

Description:
Learn methods that professional actors use on Broadway to enhance your musicality, singing and performance.

CW3:
Title: Choreo for All
When: Saturday 15:00 - 17:15 hrs
Duration: 2 hours
Target group: all singers

Description:
Don't move well? Do some of your chorus members struggle with the choreography? Are you afraid or embarrassed to dance? Well, have no fear! This is the class for you. Learn tools to make choreography fun and teachable. Learn to enhance your performance through movement.

CW4:

Advanced Class for those that want to dive deep into the songs we sing, studying lyrics and acting methodology.
